Garment Draping Week 1: Introduction to Garment Draping In Week 1, Ms. Melina introduced us to draping techniques and the fundamentals of measuring a mannequin. We learned mannequin marking terms and how to put draping lines on mannequin using draping tape, such as the princess line, bust line, waistline, hip line, shoulder line, and armholes, which are essential for accurate garment construction. Additionally, she showed us various types of calico fabrics and essential sewing tools required for draping. She also introduced us to draping techniques and sewing stitches that we need to use in draping. She also outlined our assignments for Semester 2, providing clear guidelines and due dates to help us stay organized.
